The vision for Seeds Bible Designs began when I brought home a generic sign from a local big box store that said "Bless This Home". It was “farmhousy” and I thought it was cute. The significance of what was hanging on my walls didn't really cross my mind. My husband, Paul, admired it, sort of, but expressed pretty adamantly that he preferred to “have something more meaningful” on our walls. In that moment, I felt conviction on how easily trained I had become in accepting the shallow without question.
A seed of desire for something deeper had been planted, so we decided to try our hand at creating a wood Bible sign. It turned out more beautiful and meaningful than we could have planned. When we walked by it, we were reminded to live faithful lives. We were also reminded by the chapter of verses engraved onto the wood background to not lose our first love, to keep ourselves free of sinful temptation, to be quick to repent, and to endure hardships because we knew the great reward was to come in Heaven. We still walk by this sign in our house every day and have been greatly encouraged by God’s word.
The vision continued to grow, and we realized it was a passion of ours to put God’s word on the walls of homes. Friends and family began requesting Scripture signs and God’s word encouraged us in our passion:
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart… You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9
A seed of excitement had been planted and we began to trust God as we watched it grow. We eventually opened a manufacturing shop and created a Facebook page and a website. We built a small, but beautiful display shelf and placed our products in our workshop. We experimented with other educational and creative products to help promote and bring people in. All along, hoping and praying that people would be encouraged, convicted, exhorted when they read the Scriptures on our signs and placed them on their walls.
A new seed is now being planted, and the vision for getting Bible into homes is continuing to spread. We want to see others who are passionate about the Word of God cheered for and uplifted. We want to see the word of God planted not only in America, but also in countries and homes where the Bible has never been before – unreached people groups – so we partner with ministries like Back To Jerusalem. We are trusting God and believe He has a purpose for this small family-run endeavor. As we water this seed, we are praying for the Lord to grow it according to His perfect will.
